The Narew River – kayaking trips

The Narew is called the 'Polish Amazon' – its branching channel forms a system of side arms, islands and floodplains unique in Europe. A trip on the Narew is a real expedition into the heart of Podlasie.

River character

The Narew is 484 km long and is one of the largest rivers in north-eastern Poland. It flows wide and lazily through vast floodplain meadows. It's a paradise for birds, beavers and anglers – protected within the Narew National Park and several Natura 2000 areas.

The Hermitage in Odrynki and Jerzy's Shed

On the lower Narew, between Trześcianka and Narewka, lies the Hermitage of St Anthony and Theodosius of the Kiev Caves in Odrynki – one of the most spiritual places in Podlasie, run by Father Gabriel. Right next to it stands the famous Jerzy's Shed – a cult spot for travellers and paddlers. We visit both on Stage IV.
